You may think it is finished or dead, but God can give it resurrection life.
God was with Joseph but God allowed Joseph to go through his trials... Many of us would ask "why did this happen?" "Why are you not answering me, God?"
God did not answer in words but He answered in the long term. It was obvious to Joseph that God's hand was on his life when Joseph reached his palace level.
If God had answered Joseph's prayers when he prayed them, Joseph would have missed his purpose and God's Nation would have been destroyed in a famine. God knows the end from the beginning.
